I recently visited Guinness Open Gate Brewery with family and friends to try their stout beers. It was very easy to check-in on a Friday night! We tried a couple of 8 oz and 16 oz beers, namely the following - patio beer, spicy lemongrass smash, Guinness draught stout, Elani IPA, Grapefruit Kinzie and Pineapple Coconut stout. I am not a huge fan of beers but occasionally enjoy stouts and hence Guinness was perfect option to visit on a summer evening! Spicy Lemongrass smash was our favorite! The spicy aftertaste was just so good! Our server was very knowledgeable and gave us good options to choose from the menu! We also tried truffle fries, cheese curds and chickpea coconut curry. I was very impressed with the food options. I will visit this brewery again if I'm in the mood to try stouts and good Irish draft beers!

If you can't go to Dublin, this is the next best thing! Neat experience if you're visiting the city. There's a patio and indoor area. The menu, has all your favorite Irish dishes and of course all the Guinness options! There is also a gift shop as you walk in, incase you need anything to take away. Service was great, food was excellent and the beer of course perfect. Seems to get crowded quickly so be prepared if you have to wait. But all in all can't wait to come back this fall!

I liked the safe place ale- I'm a huge fan of the old fashion inspired ale- my husband enjoyed the extra stout and Japanese rice beer. Modt importantly boy do they have cool swag. I am definitely walking out with a harp shirt

Not sure why the hate on this place, of course it's not the same as Guinness in Dublin or even as grand as the one in Baltimore but for what it is, it's great! Food is a tad bit over priced in my opinion but delicious nonetheless. The beer is the star of the show of course with some Guinness classics brewed in Dublin and then the other half of the menu brewed on location. Rotating tap list so always something new! I've been here twice now both on Sundays around lunch time and neither time was overly packed. We had no problem being seated without a reservation. During peak times I could see needing one though! I definitely want to be back to try their coffee and bakery. Valet parking available or street parking around the area.

I've been wanting to visit this bar/complex for quite a while and today I made it here! The place was packed on a Saturday at 3:15 in the afternoon and we thought getting a seat would be a breeze due to the hugeness of the place. The sky was getting dark and rain was expected and we learned they were getting ready to close the large outdoor seating area, so no seating was available there. We went to the bar and there were no open seats. We talked to the reservation folks and they said a 35-40 minute wait would be expected for a table. We just wanted to get a couple of pints (jars if you want to sound Irish) and be on our way. Luckily we finally found 2 open seats at the bar and could enjoy our pints. We tried a Saison ale, a Guinness IPA, and a couple of other lagers. This is a cool destination but very corporate. I tried to pay cash and they seemed to have never seen a Jackson before. Plastic or debit only. You enter through a gift shop and then pass through the coffee shop to get to the large bar. I did enjoy the visit but this place is CORPORATE!! Not really a homey feel. They had NASCAR on the t.v. and I asked if the Cubs game could be put on. They happily obliged but implied they didn't want it to become a local sports spot. I get that but NASCAR over the Cubs? Are we in Chicago? I'd happily come back but have no expectations of being transported back to the auld sod!

Love this brewery although they have no fruity beers is what I was told. I still found one I liked. The decor inside and outdoor rooftop views are so beautiful especially with good weather. Fulton market is one of our favorite areas to hang out and this was a place luckily that allowed kids also at a late time. Can't wait to visit again with more friends

Fun spot with friendly staff who is passionate about the brews! Very nice selection of beers worth discovering, from light to fruity to darker ones. I liked Japanese rice lager and beer cocktail with fruity notes. Will definitely come back to try more. They have food as well and a gift shop.

It's great to see Guinness choose Chicago as their second North American location to open and join the already vibrant brew scene here. The taproom was immaculate and matched a similar aesthetic of the Baltimore flagship. Servers and staff were very friendly and we were able to try a few different brews on tap (surprise - they don't just make Guinness!). They have a bakery with coffee and sweets as well as a cool gift shop on site. The food menu looked similar to Baltimore, which is solid and diverse - the brown bread is really good. Bottom line, Guinness is a really cool spot and worth a visit!

My neighbor and I ventured a couple of blocks to Fulton Market on a Friday night to check out the new Guinness Open Gate Brewery. The entire buildint is chic and gorgeously decorated. We got there around 7PM put our names on the waitlist and were told that there would be a 45 minute wait. We luckily found two seats at the bar and were able to order drinks and food there. We ordered the oysters and the brown bread for appetizers. The saltine crackers definitely made the oysters more enjoyable. The Guinness stout infused brown bread was sweet and dense. I ordered the beef stew and my friend ordered the potpie. The entree portions were massive and we had to take home leftovers. I tried the Irish Breakfast Tea Amber which had notes of lemon and my friend got the Padraig Stout. I really liked that there were beers that were brewed in Chicago and ones that are brewed in Dublin. Will definitely come back to sample more beers and check out the bakery!
